An article by Mike Moberly titled “Old MacDonald Hid a Farm: Examining Arizona’s Prospects for Legalizing Industrial Hemp” was recently published in the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law. The article discusses current and historical legislative and citizen-initiated efforts to legalize the cultivation of industrial hemp in Arizona, as well as the fact that, as a practical matter, hemp production remains unlawful under federal law. The article also discusses some of the economic impediments to any genuine revitalization of the industrial hemp industry in this country even if the federal ban is ultimately lifted.
