Ryley Carlock & Applewhite Attorneys Recognized by AzBusiness Magazine's 'Top 100' Lawyers in Arizona'

PHOENIX – We are pleased to announce that Ryley Carlock & Applewhite attorneys James E. Brophy and Rodolfo Parga, Jr. have been named to AzBusiness Magazine’s ‘Top 100 Lawyers in Arizona’ list.

Jim serves as the firm’s Managing Shareholder and Executive Committee Chairman. His practice focuses on business transactions and legal compliance for for-profit and non-profit businesses. Jim also has experience with ERISA, executive employment agreements, executive compensation programs including supplemental executive retirement plans (top-hat plans), stock option programs, phantom stock plans, deferred-compensation plans, and long-term incentive performance plans. He also helps with the formation and licensing of insurance and reinsurance companies and banks and providing counseling concerning the regulation of banks and insurance companies. In addition, Jim provides advice concerning Securities and Exchange Commission compliance for private and public companies.

Rudy is a litigator and trial lawyer who thinks like a business owner and CEO. While maintaining an active trial practice, Rudy spent eight years as the firm’s Managing Shareholder overseeing the operations and financial success of the firm; for several years before that, he served as the leader of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. His extensive trial experience involves a wide spectrum of business issues. In particular, he regularly intervenes to help clients with high-stakes, high-profile business disputes, employment claims, and trade secret, unfair competition and restrictive covenant disputes. He serves clients in the financial, telecommunications, transportation, technology, health care, and higher education industries.
